I am unable to establish a link between the radios/My link quality has been getting worse or is intermittent

Check that both radios have clear line of sight with no trees or buildings in the way. Moving the radios higher up the pole or adjusting the alignment slightly can make a big difference.

Other things to check are:
  1. Check the CAT5 cable from the radio to the PoE Injector for any sign of damage. Also check the two Cat5 RJ45 connectors have been terminated correctly.
  2. Log into each end of the link and make sure both radios have the same Network ID (SSID).
  3. Check that both radios have the same security key.
  4. Make sure each radio has a different IP address and one is set on AP mode and the other on Station/Client mode.
  5. Try a different Channel frequency, 5Ghz reboot allows a re scan.
  6. Upload the default configurations to each unit from the CD supplied with each link.

Do i have to pay a licence fee for the wireless link?

The 2.4Ghz band is licence exempt but the 5Ghz band C has a one off fee of £1 per Radio (minimum fee of £50) , payable to the Radio communications agency. The form is available on the SilverNet product CD supplied with every link.
